Gioia Masala / Dance

Italian. She completed her dance studies at the School of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and at the School of American Ballet . She was appointed soloist at the Royal Ballet of Flanders in Belgium and at the Staatstheater of Wiesbaden in Germany.

She joined the Ballets de Monte-Carlo as soloist in August 2000. She has interpreted important roles in Jean-Christophe Maillot's creations such as the Mother in Romeo and Juliet, the Octopus in Œil pour Œil , the godmother in Cinderella, the Queen in la Belle, Le Songe, Miniatures, Vers un Pays sage. She has also worked with guest choreographers such as William Forsythe (In the middle, somewhat elevated, Second Detail) and Sidi larbi Cherkaoui (In Memoriam, Mea Culpa).
